Yelawolf

A friend asked me: at what point does liking certain music go from being a 'guilty pleasure' to just having bad taste in music? I don't know, but I think I'm straddling that line with Yelawolf. Can't tell if I like him in a genuine way - maybe because I can't tell how serious he is. Will wait for his new album to come out next month before making judgement. In the meantime, been liking these two songs.

Erasure

Erasure was awesome- but being in the very last row of the balcony: not awesome. It got really steamy there too. Major BO overwhelming the senses. But now Erasure is off the list, and I got to hear one of my favorite songs: Chains of Love

I also completely forgot they had such a large gay fan base. Lots of dudes at the concert. Andy Bell is a fabulous dancer despite having two replacement hips!

Girls at Neptune

Holy hell am I deaf and blind. It's been a long time since I've been to a show this loud. My ears are still ringing. Despite the great view from the balcony, the lights were blinding me in the eyes and the music sounded like it was reflected right into my ear drums. Surprising - the album was 'soft' sounding but live it was completely different. There's probably a happy medium to my ears that falls between the sterile sounding Weezer show that sounded exactly like the album, versus the ear-numbing loudness that was Girls.

MEN

I didn't like MEN's album at first, but they are much better live. The singer, JD Samson, was in Le Tigre. We even got a picture with her. Yes, the moustache is real.

Then CSS came on...
