Snes favorites
I wrote about my Game Doctor III in a previous post; so I figure before I forget, I should list some of my favorite (and more obscure) games that I copied and played. I’ll skip the obvious ones. Some of my favorites were random purchases from HKG stalls. I think that’s how I was able to play so many Japanese games.
To this day, I don’t remember ever finishing a game. That’s what having an abundance does to you. Shortens your attention span and you get bored faster because you can easily check out a difference game. Before I had the Game Doctor III for SNES I had to buy carts, and when I did; it was a rare treat and I would play that game for months on end.
I remember my mom buying me Hit The Ice from Electronics Boutique at Stonestown and I played the crap out of that game even though it was pretty shitty. It was impossible to score so I just focused on the fighting. Don’t get me started on how many hours I put into SFII and SFII Turbo (Famicom game from Hong Kong w/ converter!)
Cool Spot
Star Wars Empire Strikes Back
Looney Tunes B-Ball
Blackthorne -- Creepy atmosphere. I mostly remember getting frustrated at the difficulty though.
Ranma 1/2 CRH -- not to be confused with the crappy one released in the US
International Superstar Soccer Deluxe -- This was definitely the best soccer game at the time. I had to play and figure out all the Japanese as a kid. I even learned to recognize the “Baggio” name; Italy was my favorite because of the in-game pony tail.
Axelay - amazing shooter
Wild Guns -- shit, all the Natsume games at the time were awesome (Pocky and Rocky!)
