House update 07/06/07

What a hectic week. Multiple visits to house to make sure all the repairs, detailing, and touch ups were done. Appliance delivery today - the house finally looks like a home. Window measurements and treatments guy came (Hal of Window-ology was very friendly did a great job explaining and offering his opinion). Garage door opener installer guy came too. Earlier this week I think we were all extra picky about cosmetic details because it was not occupied by "home-stuff," once my mom and I started bringing in all the stuff we bought from BB&B, LnT, and Target, it started feeling more like a home with personality/flaws and less of an exhibit. The stress of turning the house into a home started melting away.

I stayed about 7 hours in the house running around between the workers, installers and window guy. Amazing how fast a house can come together with multiple people all working at once to make it presentable. It was a fortunate coincidence the Pella guy came to measure all our windows today for screens, I almost made a call to my brother's screen-guy to pay for screens.

Garage door opener: 1/2 hp Genie Stealth Pro - Kevlar belt driven: extremely quiet, my parents have this same motor back in San Francisco

Sears appliances: Kenmore HE2 washer and dryer, Jenn-Air French Door Stainless Steel fridge - the installers did a great job with protecting the floor when carrying the fridge and were very careful about testing the washer and dryer to make sure everything was working.

Window treatments: A mixture of wood blinds and cellular shades; one neat thing I sprung for were motorized cellular black out shades in the master bedroom. I look forward to waking up in the morning and hitting a button for sunlight.

Excuse the poor English - too exhausted to form complete sentences. Here's something interesting...according to zillow and cyberhomes my house doesn't exist! Ignore the surrounding house listings; they are a different developer altogether.
